The big question for people considering buying the best tablet on the market is

1. Should I buy the Xoom or
2. the famous iPad2,
or maybe you just want a pc tablet , well then the Xoom is a top contender and it won the CES 2011 best of the show award.

What I love about the Xoom

Firstly it seems that the Xoom is a big success, and over all users are really happy with there purchase, with most reviews either giving it between 4-5 stars. And a lot of users rate it over the iPad,.

One owner had a great comparison between the xoom & iPad ‘s operating system,
“The xoom is more akin to a laptop , where the ipad is more akin to a smartphone.”
Examples are you can download and upload files from the web and file things away in a folder and you don’t have to connect up to your computer to do this. Unlike other tablets
So the xoom is good for business purposes as well as a personal use.
You can read more of this review over at amazon

All the positive points that owners have to say

The xoom has a dual core chipset, everything moves faster: web browsing, video playback, gaming.
Freedom to download files, do what you need, and then send them away again
The Xoom has a higher screen resolution,
Xoom is a much better device for displaying text and reading ebooks ect
10.1-inch display optimized for high definition video in true 16:9 widescreen format
ultra-fast Wireless-N Wi-Fi connectivity
Multitasking - One button and it takes you to 5 most recent apps for easy switching on Xoom
Video chat on Google Talk with any other Google Talk-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, or PC).
You can sync bookmarks through your Google account
Up to 10 hours of video playback/Wi-Fi web browsing

All the negative things people have to say

Android Honeycomb is still a bit buggy but not to the point that it becomes annoying, Honeycomb is unfinished and I don't mind waiting for even better experience.
Not many aps for it yet
Not as easy to use out of the box
Screen is a fingerprint magnet
SD card isn't working yet
A little pricey

Where Can I Buy The Xoom

The best place I have found to purchase the Xoom for the best price is over at Amazon, there  price on this item is lower than the manufacturer's "minimum advertised price,  So its the best out there!

Comparing the Xoom to the iPad.

Most user reviews seemed to compare the Xoom to the iPad and the reason why is because it’s the big question in most people’s mind when they are going to buy a new tablet , because
these 2 are the top 2 tablets on the market and the xoom is seen as the top contender to the iPad.

One great users analogy was that the xoom was like learning chess , where as the ipad was like learning checkers, meaning that if your tech savy and you will take the time to learn how to use the the xoom, its not so easy at first and is quite confusing but as you master it you understand the amazing depth and possibility in the device
Where as with the iPad its easy to understand and smooth from the beginning,
your first game is going to be pretty similar to your hundredth.
The Xoom becomes a much better device than any of the competition; it just takes some time for you to learn what it is capable of and how to make the most of it.

I am a big mac fan, been a graphic designer I have a g4 , imac , ipod touch and a macbook, I used to always
Argue /debate with my friends that the mac is a better computer and I still believe it, but after doing all this research I can tell you I choose the xoom over the
iPad, mainly for 2 reasons the xoom is more like a laptop, so I can bring it anywhere and still use it for work reasons, and second the freedom of the xoom
you don’t have to hook up to youre computer or connect to itunes everytime you want to ad or download something. Apple have you limited this way, also the  the Xoom has an impressive list of technical details & Product Features.

Also you can drag and drop music from iTunes to your Xoom using the Motorola File Transfer Utility (for Mac) ☺
So Im mac everything except for the tablet, sorry Apple.

Here are some very valid points that users said comparing the 2 tablets

Things you can do with the Xoom and not do with the iPad

1.Upload files to websites, ie you can upload a video to facebook
2. you can watch flash on the web, ie movies , animations ect, where as on the iPad you cant access flash content
3. Multi-tab browsing
4. Browsing websites with panels (like Gmail, where you have a left panel with your emails and a right panel with content.
5.Access advanced features such as Facebook chat console
6.Word-wrapping text. Zoom in to see text as big as you want and the Xoom can rearrange the text so you won't have to scroll sideways to read it all.
